Devbhoomi Dwarka: The traditional Tulsi marriage was celebrated with pomp today on the auspicious day of Dev Guthi Ekadashi at the world famous Dwarkadhish Jagat Temple of the pilgrimage site Dwarka. In the temple Patagan, Shriji’s own assembly hall was decorated with sugarcane pavilion, Tulsiji was decorated as nine brides and as a celebration of Shriji, Gopalji was brought to the pavilion decorated with the make-up of a groom.
This pavilion was decorated with gold and silver, diamonds, rubies, emeralds etc. Thakorji’s musket was decorated with safo, peacock, waist belt etc. Where Thakorji had gone to get married with the royal procession.
In the evening, when the horse-drawn carriage of Thakorji’s child form left the Sami Dwarkadhish Jagat temple, the police personnel gave him a guard of honour. After which Thakorji’s chariot passed through the main roads of the city and returned to Jagat Mandir. Dwarkadhish Jagatmandir was hosted by the devotee family to celebrate the festival.
On this occasion, the people of the city as well as the devotees of Dwarka Darshan from India and abroad were feeling blessed till late night by witnessing the marriage of Lord with Tulsiji at Jagat Mandir Patagaon. In the night, the marriage ceremony of Lord with Tulsiji was celebrated with great pomp.
There is glory in offering Tulsi leaves at the feet of God to get freedom from the bondages of karma. Diwali of Gods is known as Dev Diwali. From Ashadh Sud 11, Lord Vishnu sleeps and rests for four months. After which Lord Kartaka appears from the remaining part of Sud 11. Therefore in the Puranas this day is known as Devuthi Ekadashi.
