Salman Khan: An emerging singer has been arrested by the police. He is accused of allegedly sending threatening messages to Salman Khan and demanding Rs 5 crore from him in the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Police received threatening messages
According to the police, Sohail Pasha, who was arrested from Raichur, Karnataka, wanted to popularize a song written by him, hence he adopted this method. On November 7, several messages were received on the Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline, stating that the sender was a member of the Bishnoi gang. The message warned that if Salman Khan did not give Rs 5 crore, he would be killed.
The police traced that number because
The sender of the message had warned that he would also kill the writer of the song ‘Main Sikandar Hoon’. After this message, the Crime Branch of Mumbai Police became active and tracked that mobile number to Raichur. According to the official, a team was sent to Karnataka and the owner of the number, Vyankatesh Narayan, was interrogated. However, Vyankatesh Narayan’s mobile phone did not have internet facility. Police found that WhatsApp installation OTP had come on his phone. During interrogation, the police came to know that on November 3, a stranger had come to them in the market and requested to call Vyankatesh on the phone.
The accused was caught from Manvi village
According to police, investigation revealed that the person obtained the OTP using Vyankatesh’s mobile number and then installed WhatsApp on the mobile. After this, the Crime Branch team caught Sohail Pasha from Manavi village near Raichur.
Worli police is investigating
Police said that the person giving the threat turned out to be the writer of the song ‘Main Sikandar Hoon’. During interrogation, he told that he wanted to make the song famous, hence he used the trick of including a famous person in the threatening message. Sharing information, a police officer said that Sohail Pasha has been brought to Mumbai and handed over to Worli Police for further investigation.
