Development of 14 cities and one metropolis of Gujarat at a cost of Rs. Chief Minister approved Rs 253.94 crore

Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has sanctioned Rs 253.94 crore for several development works in 14 towns and one metropolitan city with an aim to increase ease of living by improving the well-being of citizens living in the state’s towns and cities.

In 2010, the golden jubilee year of Gujarat’s founding, the Swarnim Jubilee Mukti Urban Development Scheme was launched by the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the challenges of rapid urbanization by growing trade and industries as a result of Gujarat’s world-class development. , After the increasing success of the scheme, it has been extended till 2026-27.

Under this scheme, funds are allocated to local self-government organizations for public facilities-welfare works in towns and cities. Accordingly, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved Rs 253.94 crore from the Swarnim Jayanti Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme.

He donated Rs. 10,000 to Jasdan Municipality. Awarded. 6 crores, Rs. for construction of Town Hall in Halol Municipality. 10.29 crore and Rs. 10.29 crore for road widening and new fort wall in Viramgam Municipality. Works worth Rs 8.64 crore have been approved.

Not only this, Junagadh Municipal Corporation has sanctioned Rs 40 crore for the work of Sports Complex, Town Hall and Narasimha Vidya Mandir Building Heritage.

The city’s identity-building functions include heritage and tourism, exhibition halls, traffic circle islands, water body landscaping, riverfront, lake beautification, museums, iconic bridges, etc.

The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 25.29 crore to Pardi Municipality for storm water drainage works and Rs 25.52 crore to Patan Municipality for similar works.

Veraval-Patan Municipality for underground sewerage and water supply works for the remaining areas of Somnath Trust area and Veraval Patan at a cost of Rs. Rs 26.69 crore has been approved by the Chief Minister.

Apart from this, he has sanctioned Rs 24.54 crore to Karamsad Municipality, Rs 14.93 crore to Umargam Municipality and Rs 9.11 crore to Bilimora Municipality for the underground drainage scheme.

The total amount spent under these works of physical infrastructure facilities is Rs. Works worth Rs 126.08 crore have been approved under the Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme.

Physical infrastructure works under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shahri Vikas Yojana include water supply, underground sewerage management, water, drainage works, irrigation works, basic amenity works in slum areas etc.

From 2010 till now, a budget of Rs 61,977 crore has been provided in this Golden Jubilee Chief Minister Urban Development Scheme.

Under this budget provision, 67,360 infrastructural development works have been approved to the municipal corporations of the state at a cost of Rs. crore. Rs 32,647 crore grant has been paid.
Under the Chief Minister Urban Road Scheme, cities and towns received works worth a total of Rs 6462 crore. The state government has given a grant of Rs 3110.32 crore.
