According to a report, Ashish Nehra was seen talking to fast bowlers Umran Malik and Mohammed Shami. Shami has not played in IPL since 2023. Whereas Umran Malik could also play only one match in IPL 2024. Because due to injury he had to miss the rest of the season. If we look at Mohammed Shami’s IPL career, he has taken 127 wickets in 110 matches so far. Whereas Umran Malik has taken 27 wickets in 26 IPL matches so far. He gained immense popularity due to his bowling speed of more than 150 kmph. Talking about the last season, Gujarat team had many famous and talented fast bowlers including Mohit Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Joshua Little and Kartik Tyagi. But Gujarat did not retain any of them for the next season.

A total of 46 players have been retained by all 10 teams ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
