Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Bangar's son Aryan has changed his gender. Now he became Anaya from Aryan. Bangar's son has shared a video related to his 10-month hormonal transformation on social media. In the post, the former cricketer's son, who has changed his username to Anaya, confirmed that it has been 11 months since he underwent gender reassignment surgery.
Anaya is also a cricketer like her father Sanjay and is a left-handed batsman, who plays for local cricket club Islam Gymkhana in England. He has also previously represented Hinckley Cricket Club, Leicestershire and scored a lot of runs. Even though Anaya has given up playing cricket, she is happy to see her true self.
He said, “Cricket has been a part of my life since childhood. Growing up, I watched my father play and coach for India. Within no time, I began dreaming of following in his footsteps. His passion, discipline and dedication towards cricket is an inspiration for me. Cricket became my love, my ambition and my future. I have spent my entire life improving myself, hopefully one day I will get a chance to play for a country like him.”
Talking about the hormone transformation surgery and its after-effects, Anaya said, “I never thought that I would have to leave cricket which has been my passion and love. But now I am facing a painful truth. Hormone replacement therapy has changed my body. Since I became a transwoman, I have been losing my muscles, strength and athletic stamina, and the sports I loved for so long are slipping away from me. ,
Sanjay Bangar was the batting coach of the Indian cricket team from 2014 to 2018. He played this role even when Ravi Shastri was the head coach. He played 12 Test and 15 ODI matches for India. Bangar has also served as the head coach of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2022.
