Prayagraj, 11 November (HS). This time, lights will also play an important role in the grandeur and divinity of Mahakumbh. In the evening, the sparkling lights of the fair area will give an even more supernatural look to the gurgling, clear streams of Ganga and Yamuna. Yogi government is going to take a unique initiative this time so that the devotees can see this supernatural scene with their own eyes without any hindrance.

For the first time, more than 40 thousand rechargeable lights (rechargeable bulbs) are being used in the entire fair area to keep the entire fair area illuminated 24×7. These bulbs recharge themselves and continue to provide light even when there is a power outage. Due to this, even if there is a sudden power outage due to some fault or other reason, these bulbs never allow it to go dark. Not only Maha Kumbh, for the first time in Uttar Pradesh, such lights are going to be used in any big event.

There will be no zero light situation

Executive Engineer Anoop Kumar Sinha, in-charge of the electricity department in the fair area, said that this time we have decided to use rechargeable bulbs along with normal LED bulbs in the electricity connections we will provide in the camps. This time we have to provide four and a half lakh connections in the entire fair area, so around 1/10 of that i.e. between 40 to 45 thousand rechargeable bulbs will also be installed. Rechargeable bulbs have an inbuilt battery, which keeps charging while the light is on. In case of power failure, this battery keeps the bulb lit.

He said that its benefit would be that if there are 5-6 bulbs installed in a camp and due to some reason the lights go off, even a rechargeable bulb will continue to burn, so a situation of zero light or darkness will not arise. He told that we have also made arrangements for backup lights, for which gensets etc. will be used on a large scale, where we will restore the supply in one to two minutes. But even during this one to two minutes, our effort is not to allow a situation of zero lights to arise.

Will be used for the first time in Mahakumbh

He told that these rechargeable lights will be installed along with normal bulbs only. They will also light up like normal bulbs. However, if for some reason the light goes off then the rest of the bulbs will go off but this bulb will continue to work. He told that funds for these bulbs will be arranged from the projects of the Electricity Department which are running in the Maha Kumbh Mela area. Generally the price of a rechargeable bulb is around Rs 600 to Rs 700. In such a situation, installing 45 thousand bulbs is likely to cost around Rs 2.7 crore. However, the number of bulbs may increase or decrease in proportion to the number of camps. He told that the concept of rechargeable bulb came just a year or two ago. Till now this experiment has not been done in any big fair or big event within the state. It is being used for the first time in Mahakumbh.

Two thousand solar hybrid lights will also be used

Not only in the camps set up in the fair area, but also outside the camps, strict arrangements are being made to ensure that there is no darkness when the lights go off. He told that we are arranging 67 thousand normal lights outside the camp and for its backup we have also arranged 2 thousand solar hybrid lights. Solar hybrid lights are lights that will continue to work even when the lights go out. It has a battery backup which is charged by the sun's rays. In case of power failure, it provides light through battery. These two thousand solar hybrid lights are also being used to eliminate the fear of zero lights.
