New Delhi: Congress has announced the second list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. Names of 43 more candidates have been announced in this second list. Gujarat is also included in this. Congress has given ticket to Nakul Nath, son of veteran Madhya Pradesh leader Kamal Nath, from Chhindwara while Vaibhav Gehlot, son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, has been given ticket from Jalore.
The list of seven more candidates has been announced from Gujarat, which also includes both the seats in Ahmedabad. While the list of 10 candidates from Madhya Pradesh, 10 from Rajasthan, three from Uttarakhand, one each from Daman and Diu and 12 from Assam has been announced. Ketan Dahyabhai Patel has been given ticket from Daman and Diu.
There were speculations that former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath or his son Nakul Nath would join the BJP, however the matter has now been calmed down with Congress giving ticket to Nakul Nath. The list of new 43 Congress candidates includes 7 General, 13 OBC, 10 SC, 9 ST and one Muslim candidate. Just a day before, Rajasthan BJP leader Rahul Kaswan joined Congress, Congress has given him ticket from Churu in Rajasthan. Sons of three former Chief Ministers of Congress are also included in this list, Gaurav Gogoi, son of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, has also been given ticket.
