Ghaziabad, November 11 (Hindustan Reporter) The ongoing agitation against the lathicharge on advocates in the Ghaziabad courtroom intensified from Monday. On Monday, advocates blocked Hapur Road in front of the Collectorate in Ghaziabad, adjacent to Delhi. Due to traffic jam, long lines have formed there. The police is handling the situation. During this time, the lawyers sitting on strike are also raising slogans against the government.
It is noteworthy that recently there was an altercation between the District Judge and the lawyers in the District Court of Ghaziabad. After this, the police chased away the lawyers by lathi charge. During this period the advocates also got injured. Besides, two reports were also filed against the lawyers in this case. Since then the lawyers are on strike. Regarding this, a meeting of the struggle committee of advocates of 22 districts was also held in Ghaziabad on Friday. In which it was decided to intensify the movement from Monday. Also, the lawyers had decided to block the district for 2 hours every day until the demand for transfer and suspension of the District Judge is not met. In the same sequence, the advocates of Ghaziabad gathered in front of the Collectorate today and sat on strike. The road on both sides has been blocked. The advocates are sitting on strike and raising slogans. People are facing a lot of trouble due to road blockage. The area around the Collectorate is completely jammed. People are not able to reach their destination. Although the police has diverted people from Thakur, the traffic jam still persists.
