Pager attack on Lebanon on my orders…PM Netanyahu took responsibility

Israeli PM Netanyahu's spokesman Omar Dosti said, “The pager operation in Lebanon was given the green signal by Netanyahu himself.” At a cabinet meeting on Sunday 10 November, Netanyahu also acknowledged that Israeli forces had carried out a specific attack in Beirut after receiving direct orders, killing Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.

Lebanon said earlier this week it had filed a complaint with the U.N. labor agency over the deadly attacks, accusing Israel of waging a horrific war against humanity and technology.

In particular, the Middle East has been in a volatile security situation for more than a year following a deadly attack on Israel by Hamas, which killed nearly 1,200 people and took more than 200 hostages. The attack sparked a war in Gaza, killing more than 41,000 people. Israeli attacks also continue in Lebanon and Iran.

Another Hezbollah commander killed

According to the information, Hezbollah commander Salim Jameel Ayyash was recently killed in an Israeli air strike. Reports on social media claimed Ayyash was killed in an attack near the Syrian city of al-Qusair. According to the US State Department, Ayyash was a senior member of Hezbollah's Unit 151, which had a $10 million bounty on its head from Washington. Ayyash was convicted by a UN-backed tribunal in 2020 and sentenced to life imprisonment for the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in a suicide bombing in Beirut in 2005.
