It said that the government has earned an income of Rs 2364 crore from the sale of scrap during the special cleanliness campaign conducted in government offices during the year 2021 to 2024.
Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said, 'India's largest campaign to institutionalize cleanliness and reduce the backlog of cases in government offices was launched under Special Campaign 4.0. Many achievements were achieved during that period. During the special campaign run from 2 to 31 October 2024, the government has earned Rs 650 crore from the sale of scrap. In October, 2024, cleanliness campaign was conducted at more than 5.97 lakh places. As a result, 190 lakh square feet of space was freed up for efficient office use. That free space can now be used better. The campaign is expanding every year. In the year 2023, cleanliness campaign was conducted at 2.59 lakh places. Jitendra Singh said that during the special campaign, a campaign was also launched for disposal of pending cases. After this, the number of cases pending in the Central Secretariat has reduced significantly. Most departments and ministries have achieved 90 to 100 percent of the target. He requested all the officials to take the campaign forward by linking it with lifestyle.
