Guwahati, 10 November (HS). Kamrup (Metro) District Commissioner Sumit Chauhan visited the area on Sunday and took stock of the situation after allegations of sheltering suspicious civilians on a brick kiln in the area following the recent removal of encroachment drive in Kasutli area of Sonpur under the capital. Took stock. Information about providing electricity to suspicious citizens living in the area has also come to light.
During his visit, the District Commissioner instructed Dimoria Sama District Commissioner Bishwajit Saikia to take action against people illegally occupying land in Samta area.
Apart from Kasutali, the district administration is working to run encroachment removal campaign in many areas of Dimoria. The people living in the mosque located in Kasutali area have been instructed by the District Commissioner to vacate the area immediately.
The brick kiln has been sealed by the district administration for providing shelter to suspected citizens at DBI brick kiln. The brick kiln has been established on agricultural land. The owner of the brick kiln completely failed to provide valid documents of the workers working in the brick kiln.
The District Commissioner directed the Sonpur Revenue Circle Officer to take action as soon as possible against the people living illegally in Kasutli, Samta Pathar. During the visit of the District Commissioner, local parties and organizations demanded strict action against suspicious citizens as soon as possible.
