Raipur, 10 November (HS). In Chhattisgarh, an uproar broke out over the comments of former minister and MLA Kawasi Lakhma on the statement of Saint Rajeev Lochan Maharaj.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal workers reached the Civil Line police station on Sunday and protested fiercely against the controversial statement of MLA Lakhma. The activists also raised anti-Hindu slogans against Kawasi Lakhma and submitted a memorandum to the police demanding registration of an FIR. After the protesters submitted the memorandum, demanding immediate FIR, all the workers sat in the police station premises and started reciting Hanuman Chalisa.
It is noteworthy that recently MLA Kawasi Lakhma made a controversial comment on Saint Rajeev Lochan Maharaj's statement about having four children. He advised Saint Rajiv Lochan Maharaj to get married and have children, after which VHP and Bajrang Dal have come out in protest.
District coordinator of VHP said that earlier FIR memorandum has also been submitted in Khamardih police station. 24 hours' time was sought, but no action has been taken till now. Therefore, all the workers have reached Civil Line police station to submit the memorandum. At the same time, VHP and Bajrang Dal have also demanded that former minister Kawasi Lakhma should publicly apologize for his remarks.
