Shimla, 10 November (HS). BJP Shimla District President Prem Thakur has alleged that the state Congress is struggling with factionalism and infighting in the party is at its peak. There was talk of dissolving the District and Block Committees including the State Congress Committee for many days, but it was not expected that the high command would take this decision during the assembly elections being held in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. There is a lot of discussion due to this order from the corridors of power to the organization.
While presiding over the BJP Shimla Mandal meeting on Sunday, he said that Congress had to face defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. The main reason for the defeat was the shortcomings of the organization and lack of coordination between the government and the organization. To find out the reasons for the crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, the party high command had sent the fact finding committee of former state in-charge Rajni Patil and former MP PL Punia to Shimla. He said that the committee had talked to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Congress State President Pratibha Singh and ministers, Lok Sabha candidates, district heads and block presidents to know their views. Went to Delhi and finalized the report and submitted it to the President of All India Congress Committee. This makes it clear that something is not going well in the Congress party.
Prem Thakur said that the primary number of members of Shimla Mandal has increased to 21000. Shimla Mandal is also doing good work in active membership campaign. He said that BJP is a worker based political party and workers are the strength of BJP.
