Only a fit and healthy person can make an invaluable contribution in building a healthy society, state and nation. Keeping this goal in mind, the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of Gujarat is working tirelessly for public health services under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel.
Presently, 128 mobile health units are working in Gujarat with the noble intention of providing basic health facilities to the citizens of the state. In which 45 Mobile Health Units (MHU), 30 Mobile Medical Units (MMU) and 53 Mobile Health Units (ASV MAU) are in Adikham. Maximum of these are 14 in Kutch district, 11 in Valsad and 09 in Banaskantha.
Diagnostic Treatment Services
More than 23.60 lakh citizens have been referred through 38,099 on-route OPDs through mobile health units in the last one year. Services provided. In which 1,24,4540 patients were treated by Mobile Health Units on 15,983 routes, 3,90,712 patients were treated by Mobile Health Units on 13,097 routes and 7,25,025 citizens were treated by Mobile Medical Units on 9019 routes. .
Disease prevention and health promotion facilities
Mobile Health Unit Treatment of young children through MHU, MMU and ASV MAU units, necessary guidance for disease prevention, screening and treatment of Anganwadi school children, personal hygiene, tobacco diseases, HIV/AIDS like diseases besides adolescent health services. etc. under which 11,359 antenatal care services have been provided by the Mobile Health Unit in the last one year. While a total of 1,96,904 citizens including more than 1.25 lakh youth, 59,064 Anganwadi children screened, 1,055 high-risk mothers and 350 emergency services have been treated through mobile health units.
Laboratory Testing Services
The mobile medical unit also conducts basic health tests related to hemoglobin, malaria slides, urine. A total of more than 4.90 lakh citizens have been subjected to on-route laboratory testing by 128 mobile health units in the last one year. Under which blood test of 3,31,154 citizens, urine test of 1,26,440 citizens and malaria parasite test of 33,286 citizens have been done.
Let us tell you here that the mobile health/medical unit is kept at the primary health center so that health services can be coordinated and delivered easily. Also, each mobile unit is operated as per the action plan and route plan fixed by the PHC Medical Officer, THO and CDHO as per the local requirement and this vehicle is deployed in the Gram Panchayat.
Apart from this, there are facilities of advanced technology like Mobile Health Unit, Arogya Sanjeevani Van (MHU) and Mobile Medical Unit GPS. Besides, it is also monitored at the state level. These mobile health units and Arogya Sanjeev's vans cover a population of 20 to 35 thousand in a radius of 30 to 40 km with the help of doctors, staff nurses, laboratory technicians, pharmacists and drivers, which has proved to be a boon.
