Gandhinagar News: Prime Minister Narendra Bhai Modi has pledged to make a developed India in the year 2047. To fulfill this commitment, the government led by Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel is committed to implement several developmental schemes. With the aim of providing high quality future-oriented education to the students of Gujarat, two new schemes in the education sector, Namo Lakshmi and Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana, were announced in the budget for the year 2024-25.
More than seven lakh girl students have received assistance worth more than Rs 174 crore under the Namo Lakshmi scheme, while assistance worth more than Rs 40 crore has been paid by the state government under the Namo Saraswati scheme.
The state government is making continuous efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and the guidance of Education Minister Kuberbhai Dindor to provide quality education to every corner of the state. Both these schemes provide financial assistance for education to school going students. With the launch of both these schemes, the number of girl students in secondary and higher secondary schools as well as the number of science stream students will gradually increase in the state.
Namo Lakshmi Yojana
Namo Lakshmi Yojana has been launched to promote the education of economically weaker and middle class girls in Gujarat. Under this scheme, assistance worth more than Rs 174 crore has been distributed so far to more than seven lakh girl students. Under this scheme, a total assistance of Rs 50 thousand is given to girl students studying from class 9 to 12 in government, aided and private schools.
In which Rs 500 per month is given while studying in class 9 and 10, a total of Rs 10 thousand for 10 months and Rs 10 thousand after passing class 10. Apart from this, students in class 11 and 12 are given a monthly assistance of Rs 750 per month for a total of 10 months and Rs 5 thousand after passing class 12. Namo Saraswati Scheme
The 21st century is the century of science and technology in which IT is in every sphere of life. And related technologies play an important role. Science stream education is very important for higher level new job opportunities. This scheme has been implemented to promote education in science stream courses. An estimated assistance of more than Rs 40 crore has been distributed to more than one lakh students under this scheme.
Under this scheme, monthly assistance of Rs 1000 per month is paid to class 11 students for a total of 10 months and Rs 10 thousand per month to class 12 students for a total of 10 months.
