New Delhi, 10 November (HS). Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar flagged off the Electric Vehicle (EV) rally in Delhi on Sunday. This rally has been organized with the aim of taking India towards a clean and electric transportation system.
Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar rides a tractor during the 'EV as a Service' program of CESL (Convergence Energy Services Limited). He also rode a bicycle. In the program, the Union Minister said that today the 'EV as a Service' program has been started for a noble cause. Such initiative was needed in Delhi. In the first phase, we will make government vehicles which also include vehicles of government officials.
He said that industries, construction works and transportation have artificially increased the amount of carbon dioxide and dust particles in the atmosphere. This has increased pollution, to reduce which various experiments are being done and one of these is e-vehicles. Khattar said one effort to curb pollution is to convert vehicles into e-vehicles. Not only in India, but many programs are being organized around the world regarding EV.
