All these sanitation workers are working towards clean Mahakumbh as per the wish of CM Yogi. As Maha Kumbh is approaching, their activities are increasing. Yogi government is taking special care of the convenience and respect of these workers. Through Swachh Kumbh Fund, arrangements are being made for their accommodation, food and free education for the children. With this initiative of Yogi government, sanitation workers and their families are also getting education, health and economic security.
-Construction of sanitation colony
Special Executive Officer of Maha Kumbh Mela, Akanksha Rana said that the sanitation workers have an important contribution in making the Maha Kumbh clean. They are busy in their work day and night. In such a situation, the responsibility of their safety and convenience is being discharged as per the instructions of CM Yogi. A sanitation colony has been set up for the sanitation workers in the fair area, where complete arrangements for their food, drink and accommodation have been made free of cost. With this initiative, the sanitation workers are getting both comfort and safety.
-Primary school and Anganwadi center for children
Special attention is also being given to the education of children of sanitation workers in Mahakumbh. A primary school and Anganwadi center is being opened in every sector. On Friday itself, a primary school has been established in the fair area, where along with education, sports activities will be promoted to the children. In these schools, children will also be able to get facilities like mid-day meal. If necessary, more than one primary school can be established in some sectors. These facilities will be operated temporarily during Mahakumbh.
-Payment of honorarium through DBT
The honorarium of the sweepers is also being paid at a fast pace, so that their daily needs can be easily met. As per the fixed arrangement, their fixed honorarium is being transferred directly to their account through DBT every 15 days. To make the Maha Kumbh successful and clean, a special Swachh Kumbh Fund has been established for the sanitation workers. Through this, all possible assistance is being provided to the sanitation workers. Besides, efforts are also being made to connect them with other schemes of the Central and State Government, so that they can become socially and economically empowered.
