Purvanchal University becomes champion in inter-university Kabaddi competition

Jaunpur, 09 November (HS). Purvanchal University team was the winner in the Eastern Region Inter University Kabaddi Men's Competition at Major Dhyan Chand Sports Complex located in Veer Bahadur Singh University campus. The chief guest of the closing ceremony on Saturday was the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Vandana Singh presented the winning trophy to University Kabaddi Men's Team Captain Manjeet and Coach Nirbhay Singh. He said that his excellent performance in the Eastern Region competition brought glory to the university. Special guest Registrar Mahendra Kumar and Finance Officer Sanjay Kumar Rai congratulated the players and encouraged them.

The first match of the last day of the competition was played between Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur and Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi in which Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur defeated Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi by a margin of 32-15. The second match was played between Maharaja Suheldev University, Azamgarh and Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga in which Maharaja Suheldev University, Azamgarh defeated Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga by a margin of 35-21. The third match was played between Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur and Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga in which Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur defeated Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga by a margin of 39-19. The fourth match was played between Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi and Maharaja Suheldev University, Azamgarh in which Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Varanasi defeated Maharaja Suheldev University, Azamgarh by a margin of 31-21. Ravi Chand Yadav, Dashrath Pal, Virendra Yadav, Mohd. played the role of judges. Akram, J.P.
