Punjab News: PRTC in Punjab has issued an order to the bus drivers that now the driver and conductor cannot sit together during the journey in any PRTC bus. If the conductor has to sit, he will sit in the back seat of the bus. After this statement, PRTC drivers and conductors protested strongly at Ludhiana bus stand.

Conductor Ajay Kumar told that there is already no seat in the bus for the conductor to sit. More than 100 passengers were already sitting in the bus. At night when the number of passengers is less then seats are available.

Ajay told that when the bus has to pass, many times the driver cannot see anything from one side of the bus. The bus will be able to pass only when the conductor stops the vehicles by giving his hand from behind. He said that this matter will be discussed with PRTC management. If the bus has 52 seats then they are forced to carry more than 52 passengers. PRTC has issued this Tughlaqi decree.

Meanwhile, driver Parminder Singh said that it is true that the conductor should not sit with the driver but PRTC should provide a helper so that the conductor sits on the back seat of the bus. After driving the bus for about 70 kilometers, if the driver asks for water or something to eat, the conductor brings it to him.

According to the law, not more than 52 passengers can sit, but still more than 100 passengers are loaded. Sometimes there is a danger of becoming a victim of a bus accident. It is very important for the conductor to be ahead because sometimes passengers get stuck in the bus. The train runs only when there is coordination between the conductor and the driver.
