Riyadh, 9 November (HIST). China's Paris Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qianwen has entered the final of the WTA Finals on Friday. Zheng defeated Barbora Krejcikova of Czech Republic 6-3, 7-5 in the semi-final match played here.
Zheng made the final on her WTA Finals debut, equaling the best result of another Chinese player, former French Open champion Li Na in 2013.
The 22-year-old Zheng will next face the winner of the match between top seeds Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff in Saturday's final.
Let us tell you that Krejcikova had entered the semi-finals by defeating Coco Gauff in straight sets 7-5, 6-4, due to which second seeded Iga Swiatek was out of the tournament despite winning. Top seeds Sabalenka, Zheng and Gauff had already made it to the semi-finals for the first time.
