India defeated South Africa by 61 runs in the first T20 match.

Durban, 08 November (HS). Today, India has won the first match of the four-match T20 series played between India and South Africa. In the match played in Durban, India defeated South Africa by 61 runs. The hero of the match was Sanju Samson, who scored a century in 47 balls.

South Africa did not have a good start while chasing the target of 203 runs set by India. Captain Aiden Markram was out after scoring just eight runs. After this, Tristan Stubbs scored 11 runs, Ryan Rickleton scored 21 runs, Heinrich Klaasen scored 25 runs, David Miller scored 18 runs and finally Marco Jansen scored 12 runs. The visiting team was limited to 141 runs in 17.5 overs. From India's side, Varun Chakraborty and Ravi Bishnoi got three successes each. While Avesh Khan took two wickets and Arshdeep Singh took one wicket.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting, the Indian team scored 202 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson scored a brilliant century for Team India. Samson played an inning of 107 runs in 50 balls with the help of seven fours and ten sixes. Apart from this, Tilak Verma contributed 33 runs and captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed 21 runs. Gerald Kotze took the maximum three wickets for South Africa. While Marco Jansson, Keshav Maharaj, Patrick Kruger and Nkbayomzi Peter got one success each.
