Chhath Puja 2024: There will be a holiday in government offices and schools in Delhi on the occasion of Chhath Puja. CM Atishi had already announced this. On Tuesday (5 November) he again said that the 7th has been declared a government holiday. CM said that the Delhi government has made such arrangements that the brothers and sisters of Purvanchal will not have to go more than 1 kilometer away from their homes to worship.
Delhi CM Atishi said, “Before Arvind Kejriwal ji became the CM, there were 60 Chhath Ghats in Delhi, but today after 10 years, 1000 Chhath Ghats are being built in Delhi under the guidance of Kejriwal ji. Delhi Government organizes programs at these Chhath Ghats. All the work like construction of ghats, arrangement of water, medical facilities, arrangement of doctors etc. is done by the departments of Delhi government.”

He further said, “The arrangements for tents, sound and lights at these Chhath Ghats are made by the Revenue Department of Delhi. “Cultural programs are organized at all the major Chhath Ghats of Delhi through Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy.”
CM Atishi further said, “I am happy that due to the organization of Delhi Government, today the festival of Chhath is not just the festival of our Purvanchal brothers and sisters, it is the festival of all Delhiites. All Delhiites celebrate it with great pomp.”
Earlier on Monday (November 4), Chief Minister Atishi had also taken stock of Chhath Ghat located at ITO of the national capital. During this, he had said that to ensure that there is no shortage in the preparations for the Chhath festival, all the ministers and party MLAs are also reaching the Chhath ghats and taking stock of the preparations there. During this, he also gave necessary instructions to the officials.
