The Eastern Peripheral Expressway from Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal is 135 kilometers long. This six-lane expressway passes through Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Noida. This expressway is connecting with the Western Peripheral Expressway near Palwal. Questions have been raised many times on the quality of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Vehicles cannot move at high speed on the expressway. Vehicles start bouncing as soon as they move at high speed. Due to this there remains a fear of accidents.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had also recently expressed his displeasure by raising questions over the repair work of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Ghaziabad. On this he had warned of action against the officials and the concerned firm. After this NHAI started the repair work.
NHAI Project Director Dheeraj Singh said that the repair work will be completed soon. He said that notice has also been issued to the concerned firm for not getting the work done properly. He claimed that after the completion of the repair work, the vehicles will be able to run at the prescribed speed. Roads are being repaired in Sonipat, Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Palwal areas.
At the same time, there are jerks when driving at high speed on Meerut Expressway. In view of this, the expressway is being repaired. All those places where vehicles experience shocks are being identified. In this sequence, Meerut Expressway is being repaired near Dasna.
