Araria 05 November (HS). Due to the inaction of the Forbesganj College and Purnia University administration, the crisis on the existence of the B.Ed course running in Forbesganj College has deepened.
B.Ed course is being taught in Forbesganj College from the session 2013-14. The main regulatory body of education is National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
According to NCTE Regulation 2014, a total of 16 teachers including a Head of the Department are required to run the B.Ed course. But at present only eight teachers including the Head of the Department are present in the Education Department of Forbesganj College and the posts of eight teachers are vacant. Whereas the last date for submitting the performance evaluation report is fixed as 10 November 2024.
NCTE had declared November 10 as the last date for submitting the performance evaluation report two months ago. Now, when less than a week is left, the college or university administration is not taking any steps towards filling the vacant posts of teachers. The exercise is not being carried out. In such a situation, the crisis over the continuation of the two-year B.Ed course has deepened.
The students studying with the teachers and non-teaching staff working in the B.Ed division are quite worried about their future.
It is noteworthy that even before this, the recognition of B.Ed course was stopped in the session 2020-21. But after a lot of struggle, teachers were recruited and the recognition was regained. But again the college and university administration is repeating the same mistake and in this It has remained irresponsible regarding the issue. According to the information received, B.Ed teachers are given less salary than primary and secondary teachers. Due to which teachers often leave the B.Ed course in the hope of better salary. As a result, B.Ed. There is a shortage of teachers in the curriculum. Although the Patna High Court in its case number CWCJ 105 34/2017 had arranged for the teachers to be awarded salary of Rs 52 thousand 272. But the decision of the High Court is being ignored by Purnia University. And teachers are paid only an honorarium of Rs 28 thousand 160. Whereas the minimum qualification of B.Ed teachers is M.Ed along with passing of NET exam or PhD degree. In such a situation, teachers leave the B.Ed course and go to other jobs at low honorarium.
Regarding this matter, Principal of Forbesganj College, P.K. To know Mallik's side, calls were made several times on his mobile number 6299585611, but he did not consider it appropriate to receive the call.
