Recruitment for Assistant Commandant posts in Indian Coast Guard, graduates can also apply!

Indian Coast Guard has announced vacancies for Assistant Commandant posts. The application process for these posts started on February 19, 2024 and interested candidates can apply till March 6, 2024 through the official website of Indian Coast Guard – joinIndiancoastguard.cdac.in.

A total of 70 posts are available for Assistant Commandant, which includes 50 posts for General Duty (GD) and 20 posts for Technical (Engineering/Electrical). Let us understand the eligibility criteria and selection process for these posts.

eligibility criteria:

For General Duty (GD): Candidates must have degree from any recognized university with minimum 60% marks. Additionally, candidates must have passed 12th class with 55% in Mathematics and Physics from a recognized board.

For Technical (Mechanical): Candidates must have a degree in Engineering with minimum 60% in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine Automotive, Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace from a recognized university.

For Technical (Electrical/Electronics): Candidates must have minimum 60% in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or Telecommunication or Power Engineering or Electronics and Communication or Control Engineering or Power Electronics from a recognized university.

Age Range: Applicants age should be between 21 to 25 years as on July 1, 2024. Upper age relaxation is provided for OBC candidates (3 years) and SC/ST candidates (5 years).

Application fee: Candidates have to pay examination fee of Rs. 300. SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee. Fee can be paid online using Net Banking or Visa/Master/Maestro/RuPay/Credit/Debit cards.

Selection Process: The selection of Assistant Commandant is based on Computer Based Online Screening Test (CBT). The test consists of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs), each correct answer carries four marks and one mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
