The 50 states of America are divided into three colors. Which are known as Red States, Blue States and Purple States. As the name suggests, red states are states dominated by the Republican Party. The purple states are called swing states. These are states where neither Republicans nor Democrats have dominance. The election results here are always shocking. Instead, voters choose the Electoral College, so the question is, does the general public's vote count? Actually, the general public elects the electors of their state and later these electors, representing the general public, vote for the presidential candidate of their choice. For example, suppose the number of MPs in the Senate from Michigan is 4, then the number of voters in that state will also be four. These voters directly vote for the candidate of their choice. To become President, any candidate needs 270 votes out of the total 538 electoral colleges.
