Jind, 4 November (Hindustanism). Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Monica conducted a surprise inspection of the Somnath temple near the drug de-addiction center on Monday. He explained about the definition of drug, its types, banned and cautioned drugs. He said that NDPS Act i.e. Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been implemented in India since the year 1985. The crimes committed under this Act are cognizable and non-bailable. There are provisions for harsh punishment. Addiction is considered fatal for humans.
On this occasion, 11 people were present in the de-addiction center. The Authority Secretary took information about the facilities provided to the people living in the center and also gave necessary guidelines. Apart from this, detailed information was taken about their living conditions. He instructed the staff that there should be no slack in the care of the people and no carelessness should be taken regarding their health.
