Famous Kannada film director Guruprasad was found dead in his flat in Bengaluru on Sunday morning, 3 November. Guruprasad, the director of films like 'Adelu Manjunath' and 'Director's Special', was 52 years old. Police suspect that he committed suicide two-three days ago.
Guruprasad was living in an apartment in Madananayakanahalli area of North Bengaluru for the last eight months. The smell coming from his flat made the neighbors realize that he had died. According to the report, Guruprasad had suffered financial loss by borrowing money from people. His recent film 'Ranganayak' was a flop and due to this he was in depression.
It is suspected that Guruprasad has committed suicide. Police arrived on complaint of foul smell coming from the apartment. SP CK Bawa has confirmed the death of Guruprasad. According to him, the neighbors last saw Guruprasad five-six days ago. It seems that he hanged himself that very day. He was in financial trouble, so he committed suicide. “We are investigating the time and circumstances of his death,” he said. Kannada artistes and fans are in shock after the news of Guruprasad's demise. Hearing this news, the stars who worked with him have paid tribute.

Both the films were liked by the people and were hits. Not only this, he also received many awards for these films. Guruprasad was the judge of the reality TV show 'Dance Karnataka Dance'. He participated in 'Bigg Boss Kannada 2' as a wild card contestant. He was currently shooting for his upcoming film 'Edema', but the news of his death came before the shooting could be completed.
