Jagdalpur, 4 November (Hindustan Reporter). In Bastar district too, the four-day long Chhath festival will begin from November 5. Devotees will reach rivers and ponds for worship. The cleaning of Municipal Corporation Mahadev Ghat, Dalpat Sagar and Ganga Munda has almost been completed. It will start with Nahay-Khay on Tuesday and Vrati will perform Kharna ritual on Wednesday.
The ritual will conclude with offering Arghya to the setting Sun on Thursday and to the rising Sun on Friday. On the first day, the fasting women will take bath in Indravati river and Ganga Munda, Dalpat pond and eat vegetables cooked in desi ghee along with Arwa rice and gram dal, Kharna will be performed on the next day. Women's 36-hour waterless fast will begin. The festival will conclude after offering Arghya to the setting sun on Thursday and the rising sun on Friday 8th November. Corporation's MIC member Narasimha Rao said that the cleaning of the ghats has been completed. Corporation's MIC members Yashvardhan Rao, Yogendra Pandey, along with Ajay Banik, Vinay Sharma, Damodar, Shakti observed the preparations.
