Balrampur, 2 November (HS). Balrampur police station has taken action against gamblers and arrested 11 gamblers. Crime has been registered against all the gamblers and they have been released on bond.
According to the release issued, on November 01, Police Station In-charge Balrampur Inspector Bhapendra Sahu received information from the informer that some people were gambling by placing bets of Rs. 52 cards using 52-card cards in Satisemar Para of village Bhanaura under Balrampur police station area. The station in-charge informed the higher officials, formed a team and carried out raids.
In the raid, a total of 11 accused were caught gambling with 52 playing cards. A total of Rs 88 thousand 200 including 52 playing cards were seized from the possession of all the accused on the spot. Since the act of the accused was found to have committed a crime under Section 3 of the Chhattisgarh Gambling (Prohibition) Act 2022, a crime has been registered against the accused in Balrampur police station and taken up for investigation. Since the crimes of the accused are bailable, the accused have been arrested and released on bail bond.
The accused include Ramdas Gupta, Sugriva, Khalil Ansari, Manowar Ansari, Vikas Kumar Gupta, Pandu Ram, Shyamgupta, Rameshwar Singh, Pramod Toppo, Mahipal Kujur, Sanjay Prasad Gupta, all residents of Balrampur.
