Ahmedabad: At present, the festival of Diwali is being celebrated with great pomp across the country including Gujarat. Accidents increase especially during festivals. So, while the team of 108 has made advance plans to deal with any kind of accident during the Diwali festivities, yesterday there was a spate of accidents across Gujarat on the same day of Diwali.
108 have announced the figures for one day of Diwali. According to which, 921 emergency cases of accidents have been reported in Gujarat in a single day yesterday. Which is 481 per day on normal days. Thus, an increase of 91.48 percent has been seen in accidents in a single day.
Out of which maximum 131 calls have come from Ahmedabad. Who normally lives to the age of 90 years. Similarly, if we look at the data of other districts, 92 accidents have been registered in Surat, 48 in Rajkot, 47 in Panchmahal, 40 in Dahod and 59 in Vadodara.
Similarly, there has been an increase of 124.31 percent in the incidents of assault on a single day of Diwali. Yesterday, 323 emergency calls were recorded in a single day, compared to 144 attack calls on normal days. Out of which maximum 77 calls have come from Ahmedabad city only. On normal days this figure is 35. If we look at the figures of other districts, 33 cases of assault have been reported in Surat, 18 in Rajkot, 21 in Panchmahal, 15 in Mehsana.
38 cases of burns due to bursting of firecrackers on Diwali have been reported in 15 districts of Gujarat. Out of which 8 calls have been received in Ahmedabad, 6 in Surat, 5 in Bharuch, 3-3 in Jamnagar-Rajkot, 2-2 in Gandhinagar-Morbi.
