Uproar in Jammu and Kashmir
Devendra Rana was one of the veteran leaders of BJP. Devendra was also the younger brother of Union Minister Jitendra Singh. According to the information, he breathed his last late Wednesday night in a hospital in Faridabad. The demise of the veteran leader has created a stir in the politics of Jammu and Kashmir. Many leaders including Mehbooba Mufti have expressed grief over his demise.

Posting on Instagram, Mehbooba Mufti wrote, “On hearing about the sudden demise of Devendra Rana, my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Whereas Congress (Jammu and Kashmir) wrote that they are sad and shocked by the demise of Nagrota MLA Devendra Singh Rana. He was a strong leader.

Devendra Singh Rana got 48113 votes in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. While NC candidate Joginder Singh got 17641 votes. In this way Devendra Singh won by a huge margin of 30472 votes. Whereas in the assembly elections, Congress candidate Balbir Singh got 6979 votes.
