Signs of weakness from global market, mixed business in Asia

New Delhi, 31 October (Hindustan Reporter). There are signs of weakness from the global market today. US markets closed in the red after trading under pressure during the previous session. Dow Johns Futures also seems to be trading with a decline today. European markets also fell during the last session. At the same time, mixed trading is taking place in Asian markets today.

GDP growth figures in America were released only yesterday. Due to these figures being lower than expected, the mood of the US market deteriorated during the last session. Similarly, the weak quarterly results of chip companies also had a negative impact on the market sentiments, due to which the Wall Street indices fell. The S&P 500 index closed at 5,813.67 points with a weakness of 0.33 percent. Similarly, Nasdaq ended the last session's trading at the level of 18,607.93 points with a decline of 104.82 points or 0.56 percent. Dow Johns Futures is also seen trading at the level of 42,101.04 points with a weakness of 0.10 percent.

Like the American market, there was continuous selling pressure in the European market during the last session. The FTSE index closed at 8,159.63 points with a weakness of 0.74 percent. Similarly, the CAC index fell 1.11 percent and ended the last session's trading at the level of 7,428.36 points. Apart from this, DAX index closed at the level of 19,257.34 points with a decline of 220.73 points or 1.15 percent.

Mixed trading is seen in Asian markets today. Out of 9 markets in Asia, the indices of 4 are trading in the green mark with gains, while 3 indices remain in the red mark with a decline. There was no change in the Straits Times Index and Taiwan Weighted Index today due to the holiday in the stock exchanges of Singapore and Taiwan.

GIFT Nifty is currently trading at the level of 24,297 points with a weakness of 0.31 percent. Similarly, Nikkei index declined by 370.11 points or 0.94 percent and reached the level of 38,907.28 points. Apart from this, Kospi index has fallen by 0.82 percent to the level of 2,572.64 points.

On the other hand, the Hang Seng Index is trading at the level of 20,476.42 points with a strength of 0.47 percent. Similarly, the SET Composite Index has reached the level of 1,456.41 points with an increase of 0.64 percent. Apart from this, Jakarta Composite Index is trading up by 0.32 percent at the level of 7,593.86 points and Shanghai Composite Index is trading up by 0.36 percent at the level of 3,278.04 points.
