Jorhat (Assam), 30 October (Hindustan Reporter). Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal Surat Singh arrived on Tuesday on a two-day visit to Jorhat Air Force Station. Visited Air Force Station Jorhat, the major airbase of Assam on the first day and celebrated Diwali with the air warriors today on Wednesday. He was welcomed by Air Commodore R Aravind, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Jorhat and Air Commodore Sunil Agarwal, Air Force Hospital, Jorhat.
A release issued by Guwahati Defense PRO said that during this, Air Marshal Surat Singh received information about the operational, maintenance and administrative preparedness of the base along with other related infrastructure development works going on at the station. He participated in Diwali celebrations with the air warriors of the station.
Air warriors deployed at the Advanced Landing Ground were also present at the ceremony. During his interaction with the deployed personnel, he expressed satisfaction over their state of preparedness, high morale and dedication. He inspired them to be ready to face all challenges.
The Air Marshal also expressed his warm greetings and gratitude to the families of the air warriors and appreciated their strength and support. The ceremony provided an opportunity to the air warriors serving at remote locations to interact with their commander and enhance camaraderie as well as boost the morale of all personnel.
