Ranchi, 30 October (Hindustan Reporter). Sadar police station of Ranchi has arrested two youths who were selling brown sugar. The arrested youth include Wasim Khan, resident of Bariatu and Firoz Ansari, resident of Badgai. 3.64 grams of brown sugar and two mobile phones have been recovered from them.
City SP Rajkumar Mehta told in the press conference on Wednesday that a raid team was formed under the leadership of Sadar DSP to take action against drugs. Based on the information received by the team, two youths, Wasim Khan alias Chhotu and Firoz Ansari, were caught near Mangalam Marriage Hall located on Cheshire Home Road. During the search of the arrested person, 25 packets of brown sugar in small bundles made of paper and silver foil were recovered from his pant pockets. When asked, both of them told that they fill brown sugar in small bundles and sell it at the rate of Rs 700-800 per bundle. A case was registered against them under NDPS Act. SP said that the raid team included DSP Sanjeev Besra, police station in-charge Kuldeep Kumar, Deepak Narayan Singh, Nirbhay Kumar, Maino Murmu and armed forces.
