Potter Ramesh told that 100 lamps are being given to the customers in the market for Rs 100 to Rs 120. He said that not only making lamps is a problem but there are many problems in selling them too. People bargain even after such low prices.

It takes three to four days to shape the clay into a pot. The soil is put in a vessel and left to soak. After about 48 hours, it is taken out from the vessel, kneaded and dried. After drying the clay pot, it is fired over fire to make it solid. After that many artisans or other artisans also paint it. After which the vessel is ready to be sold in the market.

Increased demand for clay lamps and items made of clay

Shopkeepers selling earthen lamps said that huge sales are expected this Diwali. He told that on the last Diwali, he used to go to homes to sell lamps. Even then there were very less sales but this time people are coming to his shop and buying lamps as well as other earthen items.
