District Magistrate Dr. Dinesh Chandra and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma along with hundreds of police personnel took stock of the security arrangements by marching on foot in the entire Kotwali area from Kotwali intersection late on Tuesday night. Information has been taken from people shopping in the markets. For security reasons, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma has given instructions to check the CCTV installed in the markets and monitor them 24 hours. During the foot march, the Superintendent of Police instructed the Kotwali Police Station that the people shopping for the Dhanteras festival should not face any kind of problems. The traffic system should continue to run smoothly.
During this, Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma also made the women who came to the market for shopping during Dhanteras festival aware by giving them information about women's safety and women's helpline 1090. Women were instructed to immediately call 1090 and inform the police in case of any problem. Strict action will be taken against the accused.
While talking to Hindusthan Samachar representative on telephone on Wednesday regarding the route march that took place late at night, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma said that there was a crowd of people in the markets for the Dhanteras festival. People were made to feel safe by marching on security issues. People will not be allowed to face any kind of problem during Dhanteras and Diwali festivals.
