Bharuch: A leopard attacked and killed a girl who had gone to graze goats on the outskirts of Rajakuwa village in Netrang, Bharuch. Leaders including the MLA of Jangkiya gathered to take the girl to Netrang Health Center for post-mortem. The Forest Department has started efforts to catch the leopard.
Many cases of leopards have been reported in many areas including Walia, Netrang of Bharuch district and animals have also died due to them. Then a girl named Leela Kotwadia, about 12 years old, who lived with her grandparents in Rajakuwa village of Netrang taluka while her parents went out to work, came across goats near her house on the outskirts of the village in the evening. Used to go for grazing. Meanwhile, a leopard attacked the girl, due to this attack the girl was seriously injured and she died.
On getting information about the incident, Netrang police personnel along with forest department officials reached the spot. The police took the girl's body to Netrang Health Center and took action. After getting information about the incident, MLA Ritesh Vasava also reached the health center. He instructed the forest department officials to immediately catch the leopard so that such an incident does not happen again. However, there is an atmosphere of fear in the province regarding this incident.
