Dhamtari, 29 October (HIST). On October 29, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, “Run for Unity” unity race was organized in the state and also in the district.
The race, which started from Gandhi Maidan Dhamtari, was flagged off by former MLA Dhamtari Ranjana Sahu and Collector Namrata Gandhi. This race ended at Ghadi Chowk via Sadar Bazaar. During this, all the participants demonstrated solidarity with the slogan 'Strength in Unity'.
On this occasion, distinguished citizens of Dhamtari city, public representatives, officials, employees, students ran together and gave the message of unity. Along with this, people also ran for unity in all the development blocks. Everyone also took the oath of unity.
Former MLA Ranjana Sahu said that the objective of this race is not only to encourage physical health but also to awaken the feeling of national spirit and unity among the people. He said that we all should participate in this race and take a pledge to build the India of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's dreams. Collector Namrata Gandhi greeted the people of the district on Dhanteras and Diwali. He said that Run for Unity inspires everyone to move forward unitedly. It also explains the importance of unity in diversity of our country. The determination and courage with which Sardar Patel united the nation is inspiring for all of us.
