'If any property is damaged…', Guwahati Police notice to political parties opposing CAA – News India Live

CAA Notification: CAA i.e. Citizen Amendment Act 2019 has been implemented in the entire country. The implementation of CAA was announced by the Central Government on Monday. Due to which non-Muslim citizens of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh like Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist etc. will easily get Indian citizenship. However, protests started as soon as the implementation of CAA was announced and several political parties in Assam even announced a strike, while Guwahati Police sent legal notices to political parties.

In Assam, the All Assam Students Union (AASU) and 30 indigenous organizations on Monday burnt copies of the CAA Act in various parts of the state, including Guwahati, Barpeta, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Dibrugarh and Tezpur. Also, the United Opposition (UofA) of 16 parties in Assam announced a statewide strike today as part of a phased agitation. However, Guwahati Police has sent a legal notice to the political parties. Home Ministry prepared a portal

The Home Ministry has prepared a portal for the convenience of the applicants and the entire process will be online. According to the law, undocumented minorities from the three neighboring countries will get benefits under the CAA.
