OTP or message will not come on mobile from November 1? TRAI's strict rules confuse customers

TRAI New Run: New rules are to be implemented by Telecom Authority TRAI from November 1. Under the new rules, telecom companies will no longer be able to send commercial SMS to their customers. Apart from telecom companies, banks, e-commerce platforms and other financial institutions have expressed concern over the new rules of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.

Under the new rules of TRAI, telecom companies have banned transactions with untraceable numbers. This means that now it is mandatory to trace transactions and service SMS of all types of numbers. This rule is going to come into effect from November 1. So now customers will not receive any message unfiltered.

Will the delivery of OTP-required messages stop?

Telecom companies said about this new rule, many top organizations and telemarketers are not ready to follow these rules. This may delay the delivery of OTP and other essential messages. Cellular Operators Association of India has appealed to TRAI to extend the date of implementation of this new rule. Telecom companies like Jio, Airtel and Voda Idea are included in this association.

TRAI gave instructions

If the message or phone number cannot be traced, telecom companies may not allow it to be delivered to customers. To implement this rule, telemarketers and private organizations will have to implement necessary technology solutions. So that they can deliver important messages like OTP to people.

1.7 billion commercial messages

According to the report, 1.5 to 1.7 billion commercial messages are sent every day in India. Delivery of messages under these rules will take time. Telecom companies have advised that these rules will be implemented in logger mode from November 1. If any false signal is received it will be noted and appropriate action will be taken. The industry has promised to bring ad volume delivery into blocking mode by December 1.
