Hurt by the illegitimate relations of son and daughter-in-law, mother and son committed suicide by swallowing poison.

Jind, 29 October (Hindustan Reporter). Hurt by her daughter-in-law's illicit relations, a woman and her son committed suicide by swallowing poison in village Bagdu Kalan located in Safidon. On receiving information about the incident, Sadar police station Safidon reached the spot and took stock of the situation. On the complaint of Satbir, Safidon Sadar police station has registered a case against his daughter-in-law and a young man from the village for forcing him to commit suicide. The police conducted post-mortem of the dead bodies on Tuesday and handed over the bodies to the relatives.

In the complaint given to the police, Satbir, resident of Bagdu Kalan, Safidon, told that he had two sons Arvind and Praveen. His son Praveen's marriage took place in Sonipat district in 2013. His son Praveen died in November 2023. After that his daughter-in-law was living with him. Satbir alleges that his daughter-in-law has an illicit relationship with Inder Singh, son of Meenu from the same village. His wife and second son Arvind tried to stop the daughter-in-law but she did not agree. Accused Meenu used to come to his house also. His daughter-in-law used to quarrel with his wife Prakashi and son Arvind. Around 4 pm on Monday evening, his wife Prakashi and son Arvind were at home while he had gone to the plot to take care of the buffaloes. When he came back, his wife Prakashi Devi and son Arvind had consumed poison and foam was coming out of their mouths. The family took him to Safidon civil hospital but by then he had died. His wife and son died due to the effects of poison. His daughter-in-law and Meenu, son of the same village, Indra Singh, together forced him to die. Being hurt by this, both of them committed suicide.
