Gujarat Police Initiative: A unique initiative has been taken by Gujarat Police to save electricity by increasing the adoption of solar energy and on-site disposal of currently consumed plastic bottles.

Under the guidance of state police chief Vikas Sahay, with the help of the energy department, solar panels will be installed on the rooftops of working buildings of Gujarat Police Department in all the districts to save maximum electricity.

A solar rooftop system with a capacity of 237 kW has been installed on the rooftop of the Police Bhawan in Gandhinagar and in 12 buildings including various barracks and training centers in the office of the District Superintendent of Police, Gandhinagar.

In some districts, the work of installing solar panels is going on in the office of the Superintendent of Police and the work will be started in other offices in a phased manner. This will save crores of rupees to the government in future. Not only this, this initiative will protect the environment as well as prevent wastage of natural resources and make maximum use of them.

Go Green- With the resolve of Green Gujarat, Gujarat Police has taken another initiative in which a plastic bottle crusher machine has been placed in the main premises of Police Bhawan in Gandhinagar. Instead of throwing plastic bottles anywhere, the police have decided to crush them in this machine and dispose of the plastic bottle waste on the spot.
