Hyderabad: A woman died and 50 others fell ill after eating momos from a roadside shop in Hyderabad's Banjara Hills. Some victims lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police on Monday. Police registered the case and started investigation and arrested two people who were selling momos.
Reshma Begum, 31, her children and several other residents of Sangadkunta Colony eat momos on Friday. On Saturday he complained of vomiting and diarrhea. He went to various hospitals in Banjara Hills for treatment. When Reshma Begum's condition became critical, she was shifted to Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences, where she died.
Officials suspect that apart from momos, mayonnaise and chutney can also cause food poisoning. Meanwhile, 36 girl students of Kasturba Gandhi Girls School in Mutharam, Peddapalli fell ill due to food poisoning. All have been admitted to Peddapalli Hospital. Medical officer Pramod Kumar said that the condition of all the students is stable.
