Jammu, 28 October (Hindustan Reporter). NSS units of GGM Science College in collaboration with Department of Botany and AYUSH organized a plantation drive named 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' to raise environmental awareness and promote conservation of medicinal plants. The event, organized in the botanical garden of the college, involved planting of various medicinal plants with the aim of promoting biodiversity and sustainability.
Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta inaugurated the campaign by emphasizing the important role of medicinal plants in traditional medicine. Dr. Indeevar Chanyal, Head of the Department of Botany, highlighted the educational value of the program while emphasizing the importance of preserving traditional herbal knowledge. Prominent dignitaries of RCFC including Dr Sheikh Bilal Ahmed and Dr Mudasir Ahmed Dar were also present who stressed the need for conservation.
The event concluded with a discussion on environmental responsibility which reinforced GGM Science College's commitment to sustainability.
