At the behest of BJP leaders and workers, the police is torturing innocent people. The behavior of the police under this government has become exploitative and tyrannical. The poor people are helpless. Every day the bad image of police comes to the fore in the state. At some places the police are looting, at some places they are torturing and at some places they are killing.
The SP President said that in a place like the capital Lucknow, two youths have died in police beating in a fortnight. The police has become completely autocratic in this government. Public has lost trust in BJP government and police. Deaths in police custody have been increasing every year since the BJP government came to power in the state.
In Uttar Pradesh, 451 people died in police custody in 2021. This figure will increase to 501 in 2022. The number of deaths in police custody is continuously increasing. Aman Gautam died in Vikas Nagar due to police beating two weeks ago in Lucknow. Mohit Pandey died in Chinhat after being beaten by Lucknow Police on Saturday. The BJP government and the police are completely insensitive. They do not hear the pain and screams of the victims' families. The BJP government has become irrational due to its arrogance of power. From the Chief Minister downwards, the administration is working with a spirit of revenge. This government has destroyed democracy and the Constitution in the state. A reign of dictatorship and terror has been established. The image of Uttar Pradesh is being tarnished in the entire state due to deaths in police custody and fake encounters.
