Bhopal, 28 October (HS). Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that environment is the most important subject today. It is the duty of all of us to save Vasudha. India's identity in the world has also been made in the context of saving nature and environment. Coordination between nature and progress is necessary. Prime Minister Modi is increasing India's prestige with his capable leadership all over the world. His concern for the environment is proved by the fact that he is aiming for 500 GW of renewable energy by India by the year 2030. Certainly we will be successful in reducing carbon emissions by one billion tons. This is an important resolution from environmental point of view. The citizens of the country are also cooperating to fulfill this. Madhya Pradesh is continuously working in the renewable energy sector. According to the resolution of Prime Minister Modi, the state will contribute maximum to increase solar energy production.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the discussion session and national seminar organized on the topic “Global efforts for climate change: Contribution of states in India's commitment” at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center on Monday. It has been organized by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AGPA) and Madhya Pradesh Science and Technology Council in collaboration with Narmada Samagra Sanstha Parvi and Sikoidicon organization.
The Chief Minister said that in the present times the world is going through, our Indian way of life, our beliefs and our basic approach of connecting with God and nature comes to the fore. Indians are known for having a great lifestyle. We are serious about the purity of food and water. God has special blessings on Madhya Pradesh. While our country is a lover of humanity, India is also active in its commitment towards the environment. Everyone is aware of India's noble spirit for the welfare of the world.
He said that Prime Minister Modi is a ray of hope for the countries of the world. While the circumstances of the war between Russia and Ukraine are in front of everyone, nations like Israel which are known for the use of technology and struggle for identity, all these nations have a respectful attitude towards India. Swami Vivekananda ji had said that the 21st century will belong to India. Today, our reputation is increasing in the world in view of Prime Minister Modi and India's capability and being environment-friendly.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government has taken necessary decisions for the environmental protection of the Narmada River and its banks. Madhya Pradesh is the motherland of rivers. Our priority is to maintain the cleanliness of all rivers and the balance of our eco system. Our Son River, the virtuous deeds make Ganga stronger. Chambal and Kshipra through Yamuna also play the same role for the Ganga basin. Betwa also joins Yamuna. We believe in “Live and Let Live”. Ratapani Tiger Sanctuary is near Bhopal. On the roads near Bhopal, humans are seen during the day and tigers at night. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed hope that this national seminar and discussion session will bring out important findings on various aspects related to the environment. He wished for the success of this ideological program. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the discussion session by lighting the lamp.
The session was addressed virtually by Erik Solheim, former Norwegian Minister for International Development and Environment and former Executive Director of UNDP. He said that Madhya Pradesh is a very beautiful state. Its heritage is worth seeing. The climate protection work being done in Madhya Pradesh will have global importance. AGPA CEO Loksh Sharma said that Madhya Pradesh has touched many dimensions of progress in the last two decades. Madhya Pradesh government is serious towards the environment.
Ajay Jha, director of the advocacy organization, said that the temperature is likely to rise by 2.5 degrees by the end of the century. Dr. Vivekananda Pai of Vigyan Bharati, Kerala said that carbon emission in India is 1.8 tonnes per capita, which is less than the world average of 4.5 tonnes per capita. SICOIDCON Secretary Manjubala Joshi said that everyone will have to make joint efforts to stop the menace of climate change. Retired Indian Administrative Service officer R.S. Prasad said that all programs related to climate change should be self-driven. Climate justice is essential. Director General of Science and Technology Council, Dr. Anil Kothari expressed his gratitude.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav met the clay craftsman and made it himself.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav observed the terracotta crafts made by clay craftsmen Lakhan Kumar Prajapati and Bablu Prajapati of Bhopal. These crafts include Lakshmi Mata idol, lamps and other crafts. Shri Prajapati showed a chirping magic bird made of a mixture of cow dung and clay to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and also presented the statue of Shrinath ji. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the talent of Shri Prajapati. He himself also participated in making clay crafts. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Modi has inspired the people of the entire country to be vocal for local.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also met students of various schools at the venue of the program. The students, who had made many paintings focused on environment and nature conservation, were very happy to meet Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
