Ghaziabad: There is a big good news for the vehicle owners and driving license holders of Ghaziabad. Now 43 services of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) will become completely faceless, so that people will be able to get the necessary work done sitting at home. These services include facilities like duplicate RC, change of address, duplicate driving license and second copy of fitness certificate. Preparations have been made to implement the new system after Diwali.
Demo process started, system will be implemented soon
Two meetings have been held for this new faceless system in RTO. According to officials, the demo process will continue for the next 8 to 10 days and after that it will be implemented. Under this system, the public will not need to go to the RTO office and all the work can be done online while sitting at home. Till now 9 services have been made faceless and now it will be increased to 43. A total of 58 services are planned to be made faceless, with some legal processes still pending.
Faceless services will increase profits
The biggest advantage of faceless services is that people will get freedom from middlemen and brokers. However, officials say that unless the public becomes aware and applies directly, the system of brokers cannot be stopped. After applying under faceless services, if the file is rejected or not accepted by the Regional Inspector in time, such cases will be immediately actioned.
Driving training center will start by the end of November
Apart from this, the first Driving Training Center (DTC) in Ghaziabad is likely to open by the end of November. More than 80 percent work of this center being built near Guldhar has been completed. Here the candidates applying for permanent license will have to first pass the test, only after which the license will be issued. To ensure transparency, 108 CCTV cameras have been installed in this center and departmental inspection will also be conducted from time to time.
Process of registration of old vehicles continues
Along with this, the process of suspending the registration of vehicles which are 10 to 15 years old is also going on at a fast pace. According to officials, this step is necessary to remove old and polluting vehicles, which will reduce pollution in the city. Vehicle owners of Ghaziabad will get great relief with the implementation of the new faceless system. This digital revolution will not only save time but will also ensure transparency. Officials believe that the more people use this system, the more the game of brokerage and middlemen will end.
