Amritsar : The body of a youth who had gone to see the Shivratri fair three days ago has been recovered from Verka area. On March 8, the young man had gone to Shivala Bagh Bhaiyaan with his friends to watch the Shivratri fair, but did not return home. His body was recovered from Verka on Monday. The police have taken possession of the body and have started the process of conducting post-mortem.
His post-mortem is going on in the civil hospital. The relatives of the deceased have expressed suspicion of murder. Police are conducting raids to take the friend of the deceased into custody. The deceased has been identified as Akashdeep Singh (23), resident of Niven Tung near Mahindra Colony.
Lakhbir Singh told that his son Akashdeep Singh had gone to Shivala Bagh Bhaiyaan on Friday with his friend Gurveer Singh to see the Shivratri fair.
His friends had returned home, but he did not return. They searched for him a lot, but he was nowhere to be found. After which he also lodged a complaint of his disappearance in Mohkampura police station. Before the police could take further action, his body was recovered from Verka area. He has expressed suspicion that his son has been murdered. The police should find the murderers and punish them.
