Ranchi, 26 October (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has said that in the assembly elections, the enforcement agencies should keep an eye on illegal transactions of money, illegal liquor, banned materials or seize all such free seeds which can influence the voting. He said that after the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, all the enforcement agencies are working in coordination. Despite this, better performance is still expected in some areas.
Kumar was reviewing the assembly elections with senior officials of all the enforcement agencies of the state on Saturday. Kumar said that efforts can be made to woo voters not only by cash but also by luring them with other things. All enforcement agencies should coordinate and take immediate action on all these activities. Everyone will have to make joint efforts to provide equal opportunity to all the candidates and conduct clean, fair and peaceful voting in the state.
Kumar said that the bank should share information about any kind of suspicious transaction with the Income Tax Department, so that the criminals can be caught by conducting raids. He said to pay special attention to alcohol and intoxicating substances. Take necessary steps towards banning it completely. He directed the officials of the departments like Transport, Forest Department, Airport Authority, Prohibition Department, Custom Department, Income Tax etc. to work diligently during the elections and completely stop illegal activities.
On this occasion, State Police Nodal Officer AV. Homkar, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora and senior officials of all the enforcement agencies were present.
